The answer is simple – I Love Okotoks. I am passionate about the community we are and the community we could be. I envision a community that allows every citizen to Live, Work & Play within our borders. This vision requires leaders who bring a new perspective, the ability to dream big, ask the hard questions, demand answers and make decisions on those questions. I am one of these people, which is why I am asking for your vote on October 21, 2013.
A community and its character comes from the people not from its size. As citizens of Okotoks it is our responsibility to welcome new people and teach/show them what living in Okotoks means – that’s how we keep the small town character that we each love. Okotoks is positioned to be a community that others strive to be.
Working locally in a career orientated job has allowed me to pursue my ambitions of career advancement, be readily available to my daughter, Emma and to actively contribute to the betterment of my local community.
Leisure time is vital to building & maintaining a healthy community. Okotoks providess such a diverse offering of opportunities for all citizens. For me my play time is filled with ladies softball, ladies volleyball, and Rotary Pub Club. I have enjoyed Parade Day, Light Up Okotoks, Okotoks Rodeo, Chili Cook-Off, events at the Performing Arts Centre, First Saturday, Dawgs games, Oilers & Bison games. Having these types of activities and appropriate facilities are key to strengthening our communities character.
